ramblings
Today is our 11 year anniversary. I really can't believe it has been that long. It seems like just yesterday we were saying 'I Do' and yet it feels like there was never a time that we have been apart. I can't imagine (nor do I want to imagine) my life without Susy. She knows all my faults and loves me still. She knows all my good qualities and makes them better.

A little over a year ago I wrote a blog post that asked if I should start bringing lights to receptions for the formal events. Many of you said that it was a great idea. I then asked many of the wedding professionals (djs, photographers, and coordinators) that we are friends with and they thought it was a great idea. Well, one year later I agree... it was and is a great idea.

This year has been really interesting for booking weddings here at 2nd Mile. The typical pattern is that we book the peak days which are all of June, July, September, October. Then we start to fill in the "off-season". This year it has been almost the exact opposite. All of the off-season has filled up fast and our peak months are mostly empty. The good news is if you are still looking for videography for your wedding, we may have your date open. Below are some dates that we still have available.

It never fails. There's always one. Usually he (or she, Aunt Jane does it too) is wielding a $150 point-and-shoot camera, or better yet a disposable camera from Drug Mart (click.. zip, zip, zip). But there is one sure way to spot them.... they are always standing in front of ME.

Susy has had people literally push her out of the way during cake cuttings.

I don't know if you had a "Where's Waldo?" book growing up but I loved mine. So here is my version.

I got caught in the crush so I went with it. Susy was at the top of the steps laughing at me.

It is always fun to hang out with our two nieces and our nephew. It is even more fun when they are fueled by sugar and kid adrenaline.
Happy Halloween everyone!

A couple months ago we spent the day with Jason and Tana filming their wedding. Their reception was one of many occasions this year where I was really thankful for having our lighting kit along. The reception hall was extremely dark with little directional light. But our footage turned out great.
I am really pleased with the lighting system that we are using. It is unobtrusive but effective as you can see from the video.

Wow! What a month. This has been, without a doubt, the busiest summer of my life. Susy and I have been completely swamped and the disarray in our office is a testament to that fact.
Many of you have noticed and commented that the blog has slowed down considerably lately. I apologize. This post is to inform you that this will be remedied shortly.

What perfect weather for an August wedding. And what a perfect couple for a Same Day Edit.
From Brittany crying while waiting with her father on the front steps of the church to Travis getting choked up when Brittany came through the door and "knocked his socks off", the day was filled with emotion.
I always get a kick out watching couples interact with one another. Every couple is completely different. With Travis and Brittany you could see their feelings for one another in their smiles when they looked at each other.
